    Hi, looking for some advice.

I have braces and am going to get jaw surgery, the oral surgeon gave me the option of getting either just my bottom jaw moved forward (I have an overbite) or getting BOTH jaws moved.
I was unsure and spoke to my orthadontist, he said he would do the braces with the view of only getting my bottom jaw moved but I could still take the BOTH option if I changed my mind closer to the surgery.

Ok, is that about as clear as mud?

So my question is, should I go the more dramatic route and get both upper and lower jaws moved into place, or the easier option and just get the bottom jaw moved? Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Part of me thinks the less dramatic option is the way to go, but another part of me thinks if I've gone this far already why wouldn't I go the whole hog so to speak. Both options will fix my bite, I guess the "both" jaw option is more cosmetic than anything. I would love to hear your experiances.

    Thank you!!
