    Hi!
    I'm new to this forum. I joined because I want to share what I've learned with you and also to see if I'm the only one in my... special situation :)
    I first went to an orthodontist when I was 6 and got my first set of braces soon after. Since then I've had two sets of damon, a herbst appliance, double behind-the-teeth metal retainers, a plastic clear full coverage nighttime retainer, an expander on the bottom once and twice on the top. Currently I just have regular braces with chains and rubber bands, currently in a triangle formation. I'm 18. LOL before you ask it's because not only were my teeth really messed up (some of my adult ones grew behind my baby ones) with crowding, I've had a overbite and then underbite, my jaw is messed up, and I have TMJ. For years the top teeth didn't fit over the bottom ones so everything was crocked. Now it fits though! I'm supposed to get my braces off this fall (so they're coming with my to college...yay...) and even though it was an option I never had any surgery!

    So my question is, is anybody else out there like me? How long have you had braces? Can I help you with any questions you have? I'm pretty much an expert by now haha
